| In the early hours of Saturday the 30th July 2007, the door and windows of the Animals in Distress charity shop at 549 Liverpool Road, Irlam where smashed and the till cotaining £84 was taken along with a few miscellaneous items. It was unfortunate too that it was the day of the Animals in Distress Open Day which had to be cancelled losing the money that could have been raised, which can sometimes be as much as £1000 |
This charity, more than most could well do without this mindless vandelism as everyday is a struggle to keep the sanctuary going. There are enough problems to face without the masive bill they are now faced with to replace the glass. They are going to have to purchase grills for the door and windows, the landlord has kindly offered to get them fitted at no cost to the charity. If you can help in any way with information on the vandalism please contact the shop co-ordinater on 07921099875 or the Salford Community Police. |
