| People's Problem |
Though we are an animal charity primarily, we are regularly asked to help people. If a person living alone is taken ill then we may be asked to help and arrange care for their pet. This has also occurred if an owner is sent to prison or made homeless. Animals don't make problems, people do. They don't ask to be taken in. We, as people, have a choice whether to give them a home. If we decide to do it then we accept a responsibility to care for them. A well cared for pet, with food, warmth, love and proper veterinary treatment will give in return love, loyalty, companionship and true friendship. Care for him or her is a small price to pay.

The Sanctuaries: |
| Irlam Rescue and Re-Homing Centre |
A.I.D. has a sanctuary at Pennisfield Farm, Silver Street, Irlam. We have an isolation unit for cats and dogs, a cattery, a puppy unit, dog kennels, a number of wildlife units which include four aviaries and rabbit runs. Animals are offered for re-homing here.

| The Field Of Dreams Retirement Home |
The Charity has acquired a 75 acre Pennine Farm to be used as a Retirement Home for the older pets, larger animals and a haven for feral cats. We are supported wholly by contributions from the public and fund-raising events, such as open days, street collections, raffles, sponsored events, etc. The Sanctuaries are an important cornerstone of our work, but they are costly to run so regular funds are needed more than ever.
