Most of the horses accepted at Mill Creek Farm are those retired from mounted police patrol work; found abandoned; seized by law enforcement; or saved by organizations such as the SPCA or a Humane Society

AHDF will seek to address inhumane treatment of horses, ponies, donkeys, mules and burros, both wild and domesticated through education, advocacy and litigation when necessary in the state, federal and international arenas.
