South Africa (2)1. Gauteng Border Collie Rescue
Border Collie Rescue is a non-profit organisation, which was started in 1997 by dedicated individuals who care for this very special breed.
2. The Alaskan Malamute Club of Gauteng
The Alaskan Malamute Club of Gauteng is currently the only KUSA Alaskan Malamute in South Africa and has as its main goal the betterment of the breed and asserts that its membership has an obligation to the Alaskan Malamute breed to preserve the magnificence of the breed without exploiting it. Due to various circumstances, Alaskan Malamutes sometimes come up for re-homing based upon incompatibility, owner relocating, a stray animal, etc. They operate a Rescue Scheme near Johannesburg, whereby they will endeavour to collect the animal and after a careful selection process, home these beautiful animals. While in Rescue, the Malamutes are fed and cared for. Unless extenuating circumstances dictate, these Malamutes are all spayed or neutered, receive the necessary inoculations and deworming. These costs are naturally offset through a re-homing fee received from the new owner. Any form of donation, funds or food is always appreciated.
They will help an Alaskan Malamute in the rescue scheme throughout the country, not just in Gauteng.
